Victorian Figured Walnut Single Mirrored Wardrobe
DESCRIPTION
A handsome Victorian figured walnut single wardrobe dating from the second half of the nineteenth century, retaining its original mirrored door and elegant architectural proportions.
 
The wardrobe is surmounted by a detachable moulded cornice above a full-length mirrored door framed by beautifully figured walnut veneers. The upper corners are decorated with carved corbels. The door opens to reveal a spacious hanging interior and wooden hanging pegs, with a useful drawer below, all raised on a shallow plinth base.
 
The walnut displays particularly attractive grain throughout, with well-matched veneers to the front and sides. The original mirror plate has developed the pleasing sparkle and character associated with antique silvered glass, adding greatly to its period appeal.
A practical and decorative Victorian wardrobe that would suit both traditional and contemporary interiors.

CONDITION
Presented in good antique condition commensurate with age. The walnut veneers retain an attractive colour and figuring throughout, with the usual marks, knocks, scratches and minor veneer losses expected from over 150 years of use, particularly around the left and right-hand side of the plinth base. The wardrobe retains what appears to be its original silvered mirror plate, displaying attractive age-related sparkle and character. The cornice and door removes for transport, the door operates well, and the wardrobe is structurally sound and ready for use.

    We can usually arrange delivery throughout mainland UK using trusted independent couriers. Delivery is charged at cost, and quotations are available on request. As a general guide, delivery for an average-sized chest of drawers is typically between £80 and £100. Larger items and more remote locations will incur higher charges.

    Most deliveries are completed within approximately two weeks, although faster delivery may sometimes be available. Please contact us with your postcode for a delivery quotation before purchasing.

    Collections are welcomed by prior arrangement from our address in North Yorkshire.
