DESCRIPTION
An elegant Regency rosewood fold-over card table dating from around 1815, retaining beautifully figured burr yew crossbanding and delicate line inlay throughout.
The hinged top opens to reveal the original baize-lined playing surface, making the table equally suitable as an occasional table or for use as a traditional games table. Raised on elegant Regency supports, it displays the restrained proportions and refined craftsmanship associated with the period.
The richly figured rosewood veneers and contrasting burr yew border create an especially attractive appearance, making this an excellent decorative piece even when closed.

CONDITION
Presented in good antique condition. There are marks, knocks and scratches consistent with over 200 years of age and use. The top has some historic water marks to the polish together with minor surface scratches and small losses to sections of the line inlay. The table has a very slight movement and, as is common with antique fold-over card tables, the top does not sit perfectly flat when closed. The joints remain stable and both the hinged top and folding rear leg operate correctly. Overall, a sound, attractive and usable Regency card table with honest age-related wear.

We carefully select antique furniture and decorative objects for their quality, craftsmanship, character and individuality. Our tastes are broad, and we’re happy to be led by the piece rather than a particular period or style. Above all, we choose things we genuinely admire and would be happy to have in our own home.
Every item is individually inspected, researched and professionally photographed, with clear descriptions and honest condition reports to help you buy with confidence.
We believe good furniture should have a long life. Choosing antique keeps well-made furniture and existing materials in use, and we favour sympathetic restoration that preserves the patina and character acquired over generations.

AUTHENTICITY & CONDITION
We strive to describe every item as accurately and honestly as possible. Statements regarding age, attribution, origin and provenance are offered in good faith and represent our professional opinion based on the information available at the time of listing.
As all of our items are antique or vintage, signs of age and use should be expected. Old repairs, knocks, wear, variations in colour and other minor imperfections are often part of a piece’s history and character. Where condition affects its integrity, appearance or usefulness, we will endeavour to make this clear in the description.
