DESCRIPTION
A striking near pair of tall 19th-century Gothic Revival brass table lamps, converted from ecclesiastical altar candlesticks. The ornate crown-shaped drip pans above twisted and knopped columns with stepped bases, standing on lion paw feet. Elegantly proportioned and well-suited for a traditional or eclectic interior, these lamps have been sympathetically converted to electric use with bayonet bulb fittings. They are a near pair – one is slightly taller to the coronet than the other, but the height to the top of bulb fitment is the same.
DIMENSIONS
72cm high overall, one 58cm to the top of the coronet and the other 62cm
CONDITION
There are marks, knocks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Wiring appears recent and in working order but we recommend checking with a qualified electrician before use.
